The Polish world No. 2 was stunned 4-6, 6-4, 0-6 by the 16th-seeded American, who dominated all aspects of the match, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
Świątek, meanwhile, lacked her usual power and was sent packing in two hours and 30 minutes, it said.
The 24-year-old Pole, who won the Korea Open in Seoul last month, was aiming for her 26th career singles title in Beijing.
She was the last Pole remaining at the 2025 China Open, which runs until Sunday.
In July, Świątek, a former world No. 1, defeated American Amanda Anisimova 6–0, 6–0 to claim her maiden Wimbledon title.
