Poland will then face Romania on Sunday, following New Zealand’s match against Romania on Saturday.
All matches will be held at Arena Gorzów in western Poland, where organisers expect a full house of over 5,000 spectators.
This will be Świątek’s first appearance before a Polish audience since July 2023, and she will also meet fans at the venue.
"Playing for the national team is something truly special. The atmosphere is completely different, and I’m happy to be here. I can focus entirely on this tournament without worrying about my singles schedule. I wanted to play here from the start - the only potential obstacle was my health, but I feel good, so I’m ready. I hope we can show the very best tennis on court," said the WTA world No. 2.
The Billie Jean King Cup is the premier international team competition in women’s tennis.
