The 25-year-old clocked 33.85 seconds, lowering his own Polish record of 33.90 set in Salt Lake City on November 15.
He finished 0.06 seconds behind American Jordan Stolz, who won in 33.79. South Korea’s Jun-Ho Kim placed third in 33.99.
Żurek has shown strong form since the start of the World Cup season. He has now finished second twice in the 500 metres and added a second- and sixth-place finish in the 1,000 metres, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
This Olympic-season World Cup circuit includes five events. The next competition is scheduled for December 5-7 in Heerenveen, Netherlands.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo from February 6 to 22.
