Pajor is one of 17 players shortlisted for the top women's prize.
Her competition includes four of her Barcelona teammates, among them Spain's Aitana Bonmatí, who won the award in the previous two editions, and Alexia Putellas, the 2021 and 2022 winner.
In the men's category, the list of nominees for player of the year is shorter, with 11 candidates.
It is dominated by Champions League winners from Paris Saint-Germain, including France's Ousmane Dembélé, Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, and Portugal internationals Vitinha and Nuno Mendes.
Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, who won FIFA's men's player of the year award in 2020 and 2021, is not among the final nominees this time but has been shortlisted among 22 forwards eligible for selection in the FIFA World 11.
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, Lewandowski’s club teammate at Barcelona, is also in contention, having been named among eight nominees for the best goalkeeper award.
The ceremony in the Qatari capital is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Warsaw time.
Voting was conducted by national team coaches and captains, media representatives and fans.
FIFA has presented its men’s player of the year award since 1991. From 2010 to 2015, FIFA and France Football jointly awarded the FIFA Ballon d’Or, but the two organizations have run separate awards since 2016.
Earlier this year, Dembélé won the Ballon d’Or awarded by France Football.
