According to boxing news site boxingzone.org, this is not Wawrzyk’s first run-in with the law in the United States.

Due to his prior record – he was arrested in Chicago, Illinois, in 2023 on similar shoplifting charges – he now faces possible deportation proceedings.

This time, Florida police allege that Wawrzyk was not only involved in shoplifting but also possessed tools intended to bypass security devices and resisted an officer without using physical violence.

The 38-year-old Wawrzyk is a former WBA Regular heavyweight title contender.

Over the course of his career, he achieved 34 victories, including 20 by knockout, and suffered five defeats.
