The decisive point came in the mixed doubles, where Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zieliński beat Belinda Bencic and Jakub Paul 6-4, 6-3.
Earlier in the tie, world No. 2 Iga Świątek was beaten by Bencic 6-3, 0-6, 3-6, while Hubert Hurkacz levelled the contest by overcoming Stan Wawrinka 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
The Kawa–Zieliński pairing once again proved crucial for Poland, having also clinched wins in the quarterfinal against Australia and the semifinal against the United States.
It was Poland’s third appearance in a United Cup final, after defeats to Germany in 2024 and to the United States in 2025.
The tournament featured 18 teams competing in Sydney and Perth, split into six groups of three. Group winners progressed to the quarterfinals, along with the best second-placed team from each city, before the competition switched to a knockout format.
