Poland's Jan Zieliński and Britain's Luke Johnson defeated Czech Adam Pavlasek and Australian John Patrick Smith 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday, progressing to the men's doubles quarterfinals of the Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Their next opponents will be fourth-seeded El Salvador Marcelo Arevalo and Croatian Mate Pavić, or American Austin Krajicek and Croatian 16th seed Nikola Mektić. The round four game deciding the Polish-British duo's rivals will be played at 3 AM Polish time on Monday.

Zieliński is the only Pole remaining in the Australian Open men's doubles. He also competed in the mixed doubles in Melbourne, pairing with Taiwan's Hsieh Su-wei. The 2024 Australian Open winners were eliminated in the first round this time, though.
