Polish football star Robert Lewandowski announced last week that after four years he will leave FC Barcelona at the end of his contract in June. He bid Barca supporters goodbye in the final home game last weekend - and on Saturday he marked his exit from the club with another landmark feat achieved in the season-concluding match away.

Poland's veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, who spent his last 4 seasons at FC Barcelona, is undoubtedly one of the world's top footballers of the 21st century.

All in all his illustrious senior career now includes mind-blowing 670 goals and 196 assists in 1002 senior games for European top tier clubs and the Polish national team - as well as countless individual and team trophies the Warsaw-born star forward lifted on his way.

The last of the goals Lewandowski added to the list came on Saturday, in Barcelona's title-winning-season-concluding away game against Valencia. It was the Pole's final match for the club he will leave on a free transfer when his contract runs out at the end of June.

The veteran striker scored his 120th goal overall for Barca in the 61st minute, making it 1-0.

Valencia managed to turn the game and win 3-1 in the end, but Lewandowski's strike held a significant weight nevertheless. That is because despite being with the club for just four seasons, by getting his goal tally up to 120, the Pole managed to become the ex-aequo 10th best goalscorer in Barcelona's entire 127-year-long history.

The seasoned forward claimed the Man of the Match award too - and was given a goodbye standing ovation by both Barca and Valencia fans after the game.

All in all, Robert Lewandowski's legacy across his four years at Barcelona includes three Spanish Championships, one Spanish Cup and three Spanish Supercups. On top of that, individually he provided 120 goals and 24 assists in 193 games across all competitions, including one La Liga's top goalscorer title.

Across Lewandowski's time in Spain, no other player scored more goals for any club in the country's football top tier.

Arriving in Spain just before his 34th birthday, Lewandowski proved that the world-class movement and finishing he presented in Germany were entirely transferrable to La Liga - and that "age is just a number" for a world-class athlete like him. He successfully led Barcelona through its transition phase that followed the Leo Messi era, mentoring an otherwise young roster on and off the pitch and serving as the focal point of the club's attack.

For now, what follows for the Polish veteran star striker remains a mystery, with his next move rumours ranging from Italy's Serie A, through the U.S. Major League Soccer to the Persian Gulf clubs, where the Sheiks are reportedly ready to offer him close to a hundred million Euro per season.

No matter what his future holds, though, what is certain is that in his four years with FC Barcelona, Poland's Robert Lewandowski engraved yet another glorious chapter to his incredible football story - as of Saturday evening, now crowned with yet another spectacular feat.
