Tennis: Poland's Świątek moves into third round in Toronto

Poland’s world No. 8 Iga Świątek has moved into the third round of the women's singles at the Canadian Open tennis tournament in Toronto, with a 6-0, 6-3 win on Tuesday over Sara Bejlek of the Czech Republic.

The seventh-seeded Polish player will now face Switzerland's Viktorija Golubic for a place in the last 16.

Świątek last month was eliminated in the third round of Wimbledon by Alexandra Eala of the Philippines, failing to defend her title in London.

The Canadian Open is a combined women's and men's hard-court tournament held annually in Toronto and Montreal.
