Athletics: Poland's Ewa Swoboda wins silver in Birmingham

Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda won silver in the women's 100 metres at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, earning Poland's first medal at the continental event in Britain.

Swoboda finished second in Monday's final in 11.02 seconds to claim her second consecutive European silver medal. She also finished runner-up two years ago in Rome.

Britain's Amy Hunt won the title in 11.00 seconds, while Belgium's Delphine Nkansa took bronze in 11.06.

Poland won six medals—two gold, two silver and two bronze—at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.

The 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham run until Sunday.
