The match in Zenica is scheduled to kick off at 8:45 p.m. local time.
Lewandowski scored a hat-trick in Poland's 6-0 win over Romania at the National Stadium in Warsaw on Friday but was booked during the game, ruling him out of the next match.
It is the first time the 38-year-old striker has been suspended for accumulated yellow cards in his international career.
Lewandowski has scored 92 goals for Poland since making his international debut in 2008.
"We ask ourselves what will happen after Robert Lewandowski and Piotr Zieliński," Poland coach Jan Urban said at a news conference in Zenica.
"We don’t know how much longer they will play. They are invaluable players. They have given the national team a great deal," he added.
Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zieliński has earned 111 caps and scored 17 goals for Poland.
Karol Świderski of Polish club Widzew Łódź and Mateusz Żukowski of German second-tier club FC Magdeburg are among the options to replace Lewandowski, state news agency PAP reported.
The hosts will also be without a veteran striker, as Edin Džeko has retired from international soccer. The 40-year-old scored 73 goals in 152 appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina and played 63 minutes in Friday's 1-1 draw with Sweden.
Poland and Bosnia drew 0-0 at the National Stadium in Warsaw on September 25 in the opening round of the Nations League.
After three rounds, Sweden lead Group B4 with seven points. Bosnia are second with five, Poland third with four and Romania last after losing all three of their matches.
The Poles have faced Bosnia six times and have never lost, with four wins and two draws.
A victory in Zenica would move Poland into second place in Group B4 and strengthen their chances of promotion to Nations League Division A.
Poland's final two Nations League matches are scheduled for next month, away to Romania on November 14 and at home against Sweden in Wrocław three days later.
Poland were relegated from Division A under former coach Michał Probierz in the autumn of 2024 after finishing last in a group containing Portugal, Croatia and Scotland.
Scotland also went down after losing in the relegation playoffs.
Poland are now seeking a return to the top division. The winner of their Division B group will earn direct promotion, while the runner-up will have a chance to advance through a playoff.
The third-place team will enter a playoff to avoid relegation, while the fourth-place team will drop to Division C.
