The Kapeo Rocky Boxing Night event was held on Saturday in the northwestern city of Koszalin, where Polish boxer Kacper Meyna won the vacant WBA Continental heavyweight title.

Nawrocki attended the event as a guest, accompanied by Zbigniew Bogucki, the head of his office.

The president has a long-standing interest in boxing and has previously attended events featuring Meyna, a 27-year-old Polish heavyweight.

The main bout saw Meyna face Argentina's Victor Emilio Ramirez, a former WBO and IBF world champion.

Meyna won the 10-round fight on points, with all three judges scoring the bout in his favour.

Nawrocki congratulated Meyna in the ring after the fight.

The boxer has previously spoken publicly about his close relationship with the president and supported Nawrocki during the 2025 presidential campaign.

The most controversial moment of the gala came before a bout between Ukrainian boxer Nazri Rahimov and Poland's Filip Wąchała.

Rahimov, a Ukrainian boxer of Azerbaijani origin, entered the arena wearing a blood-stained costume and a mask and carrying an object resembling a machete. The presentation was a staged element of his entrance rather than an actual threat.

The scene prompted criticism from some boxing journalists, including Artur Gac, who questioned the appropriateness of the presentation and its security implications while the president was sitting ringside.

Rahimov subsequently lost to Wąchała on points.

Earlier on Saturday, Nawrocki visited the Higher School of the Border Guard in Koszalin and met with local residents. He also laid flowers at a monument on Chełmska Hill commemorating former Polish President Lech Kaczyński and former President-in-Exile Ryszard Kaczorowski.
