Belgium had won the first leg 1-0 in Leuven, so the tie was level on aggregate after Poland's victory.

Poland then won the penalty shootout 4-3 to secure its place in the next round.

Poland will face Ireland in the second round.

Ireland advanced after beating Kazakhstan 8-0 and 4-0 in their two playoff matches.
