The company said its designers had worked on the collection for over three years, striving to make the sportswear simultaneously functional, appropriate for different sports disciplines and adjusted to the weather conditions in the Chinese capital.

A designated, QR-code based application helps Polish Olympians choose clothing sets best suited to the current weather, according to the media.otcf.pl website.

Breathable and waterproof, the uniforms have detachable hoods, legs and sleeves, making it possible to align the clothes to individual needs, the website said.

Both the menswear and womenswear collections consist of 51 items, from clothing to shoes and accessories, designed for a variety of occasions, including the opening and closing ceremonies, training sessions and actual Olympic events.

Inspired by themes of winter exploration as well as futuristic visions of a world affected by global warming, 4F’s designers have added a touch of navy blue and arctic blue to Poland’s traditional colour combination of red and white, the company said.

In a nod to environmental concerns, a third of the Beijing 2022 collection is made from recycled materials.

Sportswear for Olympians

Andrzej Kraśnicki, the head of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl), was quoted as saying that “4F stands for quality, creativity, the latest fashion trends and technologies," while its new collection "makes subtle references to the host country and the finest aesthetics.”

Kraśnicki added the committee was proud that Polish Olympians were "being dressed by a Polish manufacturer."

He voiced satisfaction that "more and more Olympic teams from other countries are choosing 4F’s services as well."

At the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, 4F will also dress athletes from Slovakia, Lithuania, Greece, Croatia, Latvia, Serbia and Portugal, as well as the Polish, Slovak and Croatian Paralympians, the company announced.

One of Poland’s biggest medal hopes for Beijing, ski jumper Kamil Stoch, a triple Olympic champion, said the new uniforms “showcase national colours in an innovative way.”

He also praised the functionality of the clothing, calling it "a beautiful collection in winter colours.”

Igor Klaja, CEO of 4F’s parent company OTCF, said: “4F is proud that we can be part of the Olympic family and support Polish athletes in their fight for medals.”

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics take place between February 4 and 20.

4F’s Olympic collection hits selected shops on January 28. It will also be available online at 4f.com.pl.
