Poland won one medal in China, placing it 27th in the overall table, alongside Latvia and Estonia.

Ski jumper Dawid Kubacki grabbed the bronze medal for Poland in the men's normal hill individual event on February 6.

Over 16 days, a total of 2,871 athletes from 91 countries competed in 109 events in China, Poland's PAP news agency reported. Norway finished top of the medals table, with 37 gongs, including 16 golds.

Poland won two medals at the previous winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, finishing 20th in the medals table.

The country scooped six medals, four gold, one silver and one bronze, during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, the best Olympic Winter Games tally for Poland ever.

Four years earlier in Vancouver, Canada, Poland also claimed six medals: one gold, three silver and two bronze.

The next winter Olympic Games will be held in Italy's Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2026.
