79th Tour de Pologne kicks off in Kielce

The Tour de Pologne, Poland’s largest cycle race, has kicked off in Kielce, the capital city of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, southern Poland, on Saturday.

The first leg of the annual race will see cyclists cover a 218.8 km route starting in Kielce and ending in the eastern city of Lublin.

The route of the 79th edition of Poland’s largest cycle race will take riders through hundreds of towns and villages.

Overall, the seven-stage race will cover a total distance of almost 1,300 kilometres.

Twenty-two teams, comprising 153 cyclists, are taking part in this year’s race. Eleven Polish cyclists are among those competing.

The 79th Tour de Pologne runs from July 30 to August 5.
