Poland beat South Korea at women’s world volleyball championships

The Poles, who are back on the world stage after an absence of 12 years, defeated Croatia 3-1 in their opening match of the tournament last Friday and followed up with a 3-0 win over Thailand on Tuesday.

The Polish team, managed by Italian coach Stefano Lavarini, will take on the Dominican Republic in its next game at the championships on Thursday night, having already secured a place in the second round of the tournament.

The 2022 Volleyball Women’s World Championships, contested by 24 teams and held by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the world governing body for the sport, are being jointly hosted by Poland and the Netherlands until October 15.
