On Thursday, Katowice Mayor Marcin Krupa and the head of the Polish Basketball Association, Radosław Piesiewicz, signed a letter of intent to hold the tournament in the southern Polish city in 2025, according to an announcement.
The EuroBasket 2025 tournament will be held in four countries, Poland, Finland, Cyprus and Latvia.
Games in the group stage will be played in August and September 2025 and will be contested by a total of 24 teams.
The knockout stage will be hosted by Latvia.
Poland finished fourth at last year's EuroBasket tournament, which was jointly hosted by the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy and Germany.
