The Polish top seed rolled past the 25th-ranked Chinese player 6-1, 6-4 in one hour and 26 minutes in the second round of the women's singles on Thursday, news outlets reported.

Świątek, who is defending her title at the clay-court tournament in Stuttgart, had a bye in the first round. She will now face former world No. 1 Karolina Plíšková of the Czech Republic for a place in the semifinals.

The 21-year-old Polecoached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, has topped the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world rankings since April last year.

The Polish player in February won the Qatar Open tournament in Doha to claim her 12th career singles title.
