On the last day of competition in the French capital, Poland’s Renata Śliwińska won the women’s F40 shot put event, thanks to a best effort of 9.21 metres, a new world record, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Earlier in the championships, Poland's Maciej Lepiato won the men’s T64 high jump world championship for the fifth time, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Meanwhile, Barbara Bieganowska-Zając triumphed in the women’s T20 1,500m, Róża Kozakowska claimed gold in the women’s F32 club throw, and Karolina Kucharczyk won the women’s T20 long jump, the PAP news agency reported.
Six silvers
In addition, Michał Kotkowski scooped the silver in the men’s T37 400m, Piotr Kosewicz finished runner-up in the men’s F52 discus throw, and Lech Stoltman placed second in the men’s F55 shot put, according to officials.
There were also silver medals from Magdalena Andruszkiewicz in the women’s T72 100m, Faustyna Kotłowska in the women’s F64 discus throw and Lucyna Kornobys in the women’s F34 shot put, the PAP news agency reported.
Three bronzes
Poland also claimed three bronze medals at the championships, the IAR news agency reported.
Aleksander Kossakowski took the bronze in the men’s T11 1,500m, and Łukasz Mamczarz added another in the men’s T63 high jump.
Meanwhile, Joanna Oleksiuk finished third in the women’s F33 shot put, according to officials.
With its tally of five golds, six silvers and three bronzes, Poland placed 10th in the event's overall medals table, which was topped by China, with 16 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze medals, the PAP news agency reported.
