The Polish world No. 11 swept past the 27th-ranked German 6-1, 6-4 in the second round of the men’s singles at the indoor tournament in Switzerland on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Pole will now face Australian Alex De Minaur or Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor for a place in the last four.
Earlier this month, Hurkacz, who is coached by American Craig Boynton, won his seventh career singles title by beating Russia's Andrey Rublev in the final of the Shanghai Masters tournament in China.
