Polish star striker Robert Lewandowski was ranked 12th in the annual vote organised by France Football magazine.
Norway's Erling Haaland was announced runner-up at the awards ceremony in Paris on Monday night, ahead of France's Kylian Mbappé.
There were 30 nominees in total for the France Football prize, which was voted for by a panel of journalists from around the world.
Lewandowski's highest finish in the annual event was when he placed second in 2021.
Meanwhile, Poland's Ewa Pajor was voted 18th among the 30 nominees for this year's women's Ballon d’Or trophy.
The award went to Spain's Aitana Bonmati.
