Tennis: Poland’s Fręch moves up to world No. 51 after Australian Open

Poland’s Magdalena Fręch has moved up 18 spots to a career-high No. 51 in the latest rankings by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), becoming the second-highest ranked Polish female tennis player.

The 26-year-old this month hit a career milestone by reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open tournament in Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Polish tennis ace Iga Świątek, who suffered an early exit from the Grand Slam event in Australia, remains world No. 1, with 9,770 points, ahead of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, with 8,905 points, and American Coco Gauff, with 7,200.

Poland's Magda Linette moved down 32 notches to 56th place in the new WTA rankings, which were released on Monday..

On the men's side, Poland's Hubert Hurkacz has climbed one notch to a career-high world No. 8 in the latest rankings released by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
