Tennis: Poland’s Świątek through to fourth round at Indian Wells Open

Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Świątek has moved into the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California, with a 6-4, 6-0 win against Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic.

When trailing 2-4 in the first set, Świątek suddenly found her rhythm.

From that point on, the Polish player did not drop a single game, successfully avenging her defeat to Noskova, ranked No. 29, in the third round of the Australian Open in January.

The Polish player, coached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, will play her next match in the women’s singles competition at the tournament in the California desert on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Poland's Hubert Hurkacz got knocked out in the second round of the Indian Wells Open suffering a defeat against France's Gael Monfils by 0-6, 7-6 (7-5), 2-6 on Saturday.

The BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California, is scheduled to continue until March 17.
