In her round of sixteen match in Paris, the Polish WTA ranking leader defeated a non-national contestant Anastasia Potapova 6-0, 6-0. The match at Roland Garros lasted only 39 minutes, and the Polish superstar's rival won only 10 balls throughout.

Świątek delighted the pundits with her performance, and the sports columns worldwide are overflowing with appreciation for the way she played on Sunday.

The Pole's next rival will be the fifth-seeded Czech Marketa Vondrousova, who defeated Serbian Olga Danilovic 6:4, 6:2 in the 1/8 finals.

At the same time, in other 'Polish' French Open matches - Jan Zieliński has certainly had an intense Sunday. First, together with Monaco's Hugo Nys, the Pole advanced to the 1/8 finals of the men's doubles, defeating the American duo of Evan King and Christopher Eubanks in the second round 2:6, 6:4, 7:5.

Shortly afterwards, Zieliński played another successful match that day and advanced to the 1/8 finals of mixed doubles - teamed-up with Taiwan's Su-Wei Hsieh, with whom he won the Australian Open mixed doubles champions earlier this year.

Poland's women's doubles players were less lucky, though. Magda Linette and American Bernarda Pera lost to the eleventh-seeded Italians - Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini 4:6 and 6:7 (7-9) - and were eliminated from the tournament in the second round of the women's doubles.

Poland's Katarzyna Kawa was also knocked-out in the second round of the women's doubles. With her Japanese partner Nao Hibino, they lost to non-national contestants Mirra Andreyeva and Vera Zvonariova 4:6 and 0:6.

The 2024 French Open Grand Slam tournament at Roland Garros will continue until June 9.
