Coming off a 3:1 victory against Ukraine, Poland on Monday faced Turkey, which had previously drawn 0:0 with Italy and suffered a 1:6 defeat to Austria.

The match began with a midfield tussle, but a swift counterattack saw Poland take the lead. Jan Bednarek's long pass capitalized on a defensive error, allowing Robert Lewandowski to set up Karol Świderski, who scored in a one-on-one with Turkish goalkeeper Mert Gunok. Świderski was unfortunately injured in his celebration and replaced by Krzysztof Piątek.

In the 77th minute, Turkey scored after a defensive error by Poland. Barış Yılmaz's shot deflected off Bartosz Salamon, leaving Szczęsny with no chance to save.

Poland regained the lead in the 90th minute, when Szymon Szymański's precise pass found Zalewski, who scored after a brilliant run, securing a victory for Poland.

Lineups:

Poland: Szczęsny - Dawidowicz, Bednarek, Kiwior - Zalewski, Piotrowski, Slisz, Frankowski, Zieliński - Świderski, Lewandowski.

Turkey: Günok - Müldür, Akaydin, Bardakcı, Ayhan - Özcan, Kökçü, Aktürkoğlu, Çalhanoğlu, Kahveci - Kılıçsoy.

On Sunday, Poland will kick off their European Championship campaign against the Netherlands.
