The head-on collision occurred while Ogier was familiarizing himself with a route for the Rally of Poland. The participants, including Ogier, were swiftly airlifted to the hospital.

The accident happened near the town of Włosty in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Ogier's Toyota collided head-on with another passenger car, injuring three people.

"Seb and Vincent have been involved in a road accident during reconnaissance for Rally Poland and have been taken for medical checks. We will provide further information in due course," an official communiqué stated.

Emergency services suspect Ogier and the others involved may have sustained spinal and chest injuries. "The medical services are not providing news on the driver's health at this time," TVP Info reported.
