Manager Nina Patalon's players, who are preparing for the tournament in Poland's southeastern mountain resort of Arłamów, traveled 200 km to slightly more central city of Mielec especially for the Friday friendly against Ukraine.

In their ultimate test on home turf, the Poles had the initiative from the start and could have scored already in the first minute, although they failed to capitalize on the Ukrainian goalkeeper's error.

Poland managed to open the score in the 18th minute, though - when Klaudia Jedlińska calmly converted a one-on-one situation she found herself in thanks to a beautiful pass by Ewelina Kamczyk.

In the 33rd minute, Ukraine's Nicole Iwkowa had a very good opportunity to equalize, but her shot was saved by Kinga Szemik.

The 1-0 result held into the second half - till the 64th minute, when Poland doubled its lead thanks to an accurate shot from the 15th meter by Paulina Tomasiak. And then, just when it seemed that the match would end with a 2-0 score, Poland's Kayla Adamek and Milena Kokosz netted one goal each in the injury time, making it 4-0.

The Polish team will depart for Switzerland, which hosts the Euro 2025, on June 30.

"This game was necessary to properly close two training microcycles conducted in Arłamów. There were numerous substitutions, so the game lost some fluidity. However, it gave us a lot of material to analyze. The result is nice, but there are things we still need to work on" - manager Nina Patalon commented after the game.

The UEFA EURO 2025 women's tournament will start on July 2 and conclude on July 27. Poland, who qualified for the final tournament for the first time in history, will face a very stiff competition In the group stage - facing Germany on July 4, Sweden on July 8, and Denmark on July 12.
