In Friday's 1/8 final game the Polish team, seeded 7th, defeated Germany (5th seed) 20:18 in Ulan Bator, securing promotion to the final eight of the 2025 3x3 World Cup. The next opponents of coach Edyta Koryzna's team were the French. Las Tricolores, seeded third, dominated the competition in their group with a flawless set of victories, which guaranteed them a place in the quarterfinals.

The beginning of Saturday's Polish-French match was very intense, and both teams did very well in attack. The Poles, however, added a very aggressive defensive stance and effective pressing - which proved to be a perfect recipe for securing the win against higher-ranged opponents - and making history by entering the medal zone.

The Polish team - Klaudia Gertchen, Anna Pawłowska, Weronika Telenga and Aleksandra Zięmborska - will now battle for a spot in the final on Sunday with another underdog, the Mongolian hosts who shockingly knocked out the defending World Champions USA in their quarterfinal game.

The Mongolia - Poland semi-final is scheduled to start at 11:25 AM Polish time on Sunday.
