Kulesza was the sole candidate in the vote held in Warsaw on Monday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

A total of 98 PZPN delegates supported Kulesza in a secret ballot, while seven opposed, and 11 abstained, it said.

The 63-year-old has served as PZPN head since August 2021, when he defeated former Poland international Marek Koźmiński in a 92–23 vote.

Kulesza succeeded Zbigniew Boniek, one of Poland’s top former players, who led the association from 2012 to 2021.

Boniek's second term was originally due to end in 2020, but it was extended because of the coronavirus pandemic.
