According to Göteborgs-Posten, one of Sweden’s largest newspapers, Szymczak is a key player for Poland as they face tough group-stage rivals including Sweden.
Since making her debut for Poland's senior national team in 2023, Szymczak has earned nine caps.
She first caught attention as a versatile midfielder when she debuted at just 15 years old with Górnik Łęczna in Poland’s top division. Her performances have also drawn interest from FC Barcelona’s renowned youth system, underlining her growing reputation.
The list of promising talents also features players such as Sweden’s Smilla Holmberg (Hammarby IF), Italy’s Giulia Dragoni (Barcelona), Switzerland’s Sydney Schertenleib (Barcelona) and Smilla Valotto (Hammarby IF).
Other names to watch include Spain’s Vicky Lopez (Barcelona), the Netherlands’ Veerle Buurman (Chelsea), Britain’s Michelle Agyemang (London Lionesses), Danish international Johanna Fossdals (BK Häcken), born in the Faroe Islands, and Britain’s Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), the only player over 20 on the list.
The 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship runs in Switzerland through July 27, showcasing the continent’s finest emerging female football talent.
Poland's Group C also includes Germany and Denmark.
