The 26-year-old, who rides for the Canyon–SRAM zondacrypto cycling team, beat Switzerland's Linda Zanetti by 13 seconds and Austria’s Kathrin Schweinberger by 21 seconds overall in the three-stage 333-kilometre race.

Poland’s top finisher, Kaja Rysz, placed seventh in the final standings, 30 seconds behind Consonni.

This year's race took place in Poland’s southeastern Lubelskie province on mostly flat terrain, passing through many picturesque towns and villages, organizers said.

Consonni on Thursday won the final 128.1 km leg from the spa town of Nałęczów to Kraśnik, about 50 km southwest of the regional capital Lublin.

Consonni, who also took the first stage of this year's Tour de Pologne, is an Olympic track cycling champion. She has previously claimed three stage wins at the Giro d’Italia, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Earlier this month, American rider Brandon McNulty won the men's Tour de Pologne, which was held for the 82nd time from August 4 to 10.
