The Polish Handball Association (ZPRP) said the appointment is both a personal honour for Fabryczny and Rawicki and recognition for the country’s refereeing community.
It marks the first time in 16 years that Polish referees will work at the sport’s top level. The last to do so were Mirosław Baum and Marek Góralczyk at the 2009 men’s championship.
The 2025 Women’s World Championship runs from November 26 to December 14. Poland, drawn into Group F with France, Tunisia and China, will play its group-stage matches in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
The Poles will face China on November 28, Tunisia on November 30 and France on December 2.
Earlier this year, Poland hosted the men’s under-21 world championship, and the country is scheduled to host the Women’s Euro 2026 tournament and the Women’s World Championship in 2031, the association said.
