The 26-year-old dominated the final with a clean run, finishing in 108.49 seconds, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Alsu Minazova, a Russian canoeist competing under a neutral flag, took silver, finishing 4.39 seconds behind Zwolińska.

Brazil’s Ana Sátila won bronze.

It was Zwolińska's first major international honour in the C1 event. She claimed Olympic silver in the K1 kayak slalom competition at last year’s Paris Games and won K1 bronze at the 2023 world championships.

Zwolińska is set to race in her main event, the K1, at the Penrith Whitewater Centre near Sydney on Friday, and in the kayak cross on Saturday.
