Pajor, 28, underwent tests on Monday at Ciutat Esportiva after leaving Sunday’s 6–0 league win at Atlético Madrid in tears in the second half with a twisted right knee.
Examinations showed an injury to the posterolateral complex of the knee, with no additional damage.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo called the diagnosis “a miracle,” noting pre-announcement fears in local media of an anterior cruciate ligament tear that could have ruled the striker out for up to a year.
The timeline rules Pajor out of November’s Spanish league match against Real Madrid and a subsequent UEFA Women’s Champions League game against Chelsea. She will also miss Poland’s late-October friendlies against the Netherlands and Wales.
Regarded as Poland’s leading women’s player and the national team’s spearhead, Pajor joined Barcelona in summer 2024 from VfL Wolfsburg. At the “France Football” Ballon d’Or gala in September, where she finished eighth, she received an award as the most prolific scorer of the 2024/25 season.
Pajor scored 52 goals last season—43 for Barcelona and nine for Poland—and currently shares the season scoring lead with teammate Clàudia Pina on six.
