Tennis: Poland’s Piter wins doubles title in China

Poland’s Katarzyna Piter and her Indonesian doubles partner Janice Tjen won the Guangzhou Open hard-court tennis tournament in China on Sunday.

The Polish-Indonesian duo defeated Eudice Chong of Hong Kong and En Shuo Liang of Taiwan 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 in the championship match.

In March, Piter won the Mérida Open in Mexico with Egyptian Mayar Sherif, claiming her fourth career doubles title.

The Polish player now plans to compete in Jiujiang, China, teaming up with France’s Kristina Mladenovic, Poland's PAP news agency reported.

The pair previously won a doubles title together in Palermo in 2013.
