The clash between the Australian Open and Wimbledon champions promises to be a high-stakes encounter, setting the tone for both players’ prospects in the tournament. The match will be broadcast live on Canal+ Sport 2 and online via Canal+ Online.

Świątek has been drawn into Serena Williams’ group alongside Keys, Amanda Anisimova and Jelena Rybakina. She opens the tournament against Keys, offering a chance for revenge: earlier this year in Melbourne, Świątek came close to reaching the Australian Open final but was edged out by the American, who went on to defeat Aryna Sabalenka in the championship match.

Despite Keys’ win in Melbourne, Świątek enters the match as the world No. 2 and is considered the favourite, holding a 5-2 head-to-head record against the American.

Under the tournament format, the top two players from each group will advance to the semi-finals. In the other group, last year’s champion Coco Gauff faces Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini.

Ahead of the tounament in Riyadh on Saturday, the eight top-ranked singles players of 2024 posed in evening gowns during a special photo session WTA officials shared.
