Despite the setback, the Polish team has secured a spot in the main round of the tournament with a convincing 36-20 victory over China and a hard-fought 29-26 win against Tunisia in its previous two games in the Dutch city of 's-Hertogenbosch.

The Polish team, coached by Norwegian Arne Senstad, will now face Argentina, the Netherlands and Austria in the main round of the championship in Rotterdam.

Thirty-two teams are vying for supremacy in the 2025 World Women’s Handball Championship.

The tournament, co-hosted by the Netherlands and Germany, runs until December 14.
