Linette, ranked No. 52 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), beat Cocciaretto 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 and will face fourth-seeded Alexandra Eala of the Philippines in the last eight on Friday.
It was the fourth meeting between Linette and Cocciaretto, who is ranked 81st, with the Polish player improving her head-to-head record to 3-1, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Linette and Eala will meet for the third time, with the Pole seeking her third victory in the matchup.
The ASB Classic, formerly known as the Auckland Open, is a WTA 250 tournament, the lowest tier on the WTA Tour, and is played on outdoor hard courts.
