Klaudia Zwolińska named Polish athlete of 2025

Whitewater kayaker and canoeist Klaudia Zwolińska has been named Poland's Athlete of the Year for 2025 in a poll held for the 91st time by sports newspaper Przegląd Sportowy.

The prestigious award was announced during the annual Champions of Sport Gala at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw on Saturday night.

Zwolińska won two gold medals and one bronze at the Canoe Slalom World Championships in Australia in October.

Tennis star Iga Świątek, who claimed her maiden Wimbledon title in July, finished second in the 2025 rankings, while volleyball standout Wilfredo Leon claimed third place.

The Team of the Year title was awarded to the Polish men’s national volleyball team, which won a bronze medal at the world championships in the Philippines in September.

The Coach of the Year honor went to Tomasz Dylak, head coach of the Polish women’s national boxing team.

The Przegląd Sportowy poll is Poland’s longest-running and most respected public sports vote, recognizing outstanding achievements across all disciplines.
