Polish figure skaters fail to advance at European Championships

Poland sent its largest figure skating team to the European Championships in Sheffield since 2003, but its athletes were unable to progress to the free dance rounds.

Polish ice dancers Sofia Dowhal and Wiktor Kulesza finished 25th and were eliminated from further competition.

The gold medal in ice dance went to France’s Fournier Beadry and Guillaume Cizeron.

Italy’s defending champions Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri claimed silver, while hosts Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson of Great Britain took bronze.

Like last year, no Polish pair managed to qualify for the free dance, reserved for the top 20 couples.
