The match in the Mexican city of Merida lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes, with Fręch falling 1-6, 6-4, 4-6.

It was the third WTA final of her career.

She previously reached two title matches in 2024. In July, she was runner-up at a WTA 250 event in Prague, losing to fellow Pole Magda Linette.

In September, she captured the biggest title of her career, winning the Guadalajara Open in Mexico, a WTA 500-level tournament like the one in Merida.

Reaching the final in Merida lifted Fręch from 57th to 36th in the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world rankings.

Her career-high ranking was No. 22 at the end of 2024.
