The Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in the last game of the NBA Finals to win the championship series 4-1.

The title was the Knicks' third in history and their first since 1973. Their previous championship came in 1970.

The Knicks reached the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, when they lost to the Spurs in the championship series.

Sochan, 23, played only the closing seconds of the final game but earned a championship ring after joining New York midway through the season.

The Polish international began his NBA career with the Spurs after being selected ninth overall in the 2022 NBA draft.

He remained with San Antonio until February, when he signed with the Knicks.

Sochan is the first Polish player to win an NBA title.

The closest any Pole had previously come was in 2009, when Marcin Gortat reached the NBA Finals with the Orlando Magic but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
