The daily writes: “While entrepreneurs in the west were using neon to entice customers to buy beer, cigarettes, hamburgers and sex, during the cold war the Polish state was using neon to lift the spirits of workers from the drab streets. Have your retinas bleached and bask in the warm incandescence of arty propaganda in this unique museum in the suburb of Praga.”
Founded in 2005, the Neon Museum in Warsaw is one of only a few museums in the world of its kind. It documents and protects post-war neon signs, many of which were designed by leading Polish artists.
It is located on the grounds of Soho Factory on Mińska St. and is open six days a week (it’s closed on Wednesdays).
