A total of 145 films were eligible for consideration.

The story of The Dress focuses on Julia, a woman who works at a roadside motel and is overwhelmed by a sense of rejection and loneliness.

She is different and people have made it clear to her many times. She dreams of a relationship and physical intimacy with a man. One day she meets a handsome truck driver and her fantasies start revolving around him.

Earlier this year, The Dress won the Best Narrative Short award at the 45th Atlanta Film Festival.

Born in 1993, Łysiak is a student of the Warsaw Film School.

Nominations voting begins on January 27 and concludes on February 1. The 94th Oscars will be held on March 27 in Hollywood.
