Pol’and’Rock returns in full swing after two COVID-19-restricted editions, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Some 50,000 music fans are expected to gather in Czaplinek-Broczyno for three days of free concerts and over 700 fringe events, from workshops to lectures and competitions, organisers said.

There are 42 names on the festival bill, an eclectic mix that represents various takes on rock music.

Kwiat Jabłoni, Wolf Alice, Dagadana

The lineup includes Poland’s indie-pop favourites Kwiat Jabłoni, the UK alt-rockers Wolf Alice and Anglo-French singer-songwriter Laura Cox.

Also taking to the stage will be the Polish-Ukrainian electro-folk-jazz collective Dagadana, as well as Poland’s alt-rock band Organek and genre-hopping folk-rockers Voo Voo, among many others.

'No war:' solidarity with Ukraine

Traditionally held under the motto “Love, friendship, music,” this year the festival’s additional message is “No war” and solidarity with Ukraine, organisers said.

One of the biggest music showcases in Europe, the Pol’and’Rock Festival is staged by a foundation run by impresario Jerzy Owsiak, the driving force behind the popular annual Polish wintertime fundraiser called the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
