She is to perform an all-Bach programme comprising Ricercar a3 from The Musical Offering BWV1079, 15 Sinfonias BWV787-801 and Partita No. 5 in G BWV829.

The Wigmore Hall writes on its website that Pobłocka’s “Bach interpretations have attracted extraordinary praise”.

Ewa Pobłocka, a prizewinner at the 1980 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, has explored Bach’s music for decades.

Several years ago, she recorded the first volume of Das Wohltemperierte Klavier. The 2-CD album, released by the National Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw, was included by the Gramophone magazine among the fifty best recordings of Bach's music ever made. Its critic Jed Distler wrote about Pobłocka’s “pianistic resourcefulness, keen polyphonic acumen, impeccable taste and an ability to imbue each Prelude and Fugue with a distinct point of view borne out of musical considerations.”

Pobłocka’s recording of the second volume of Das Wohltemperierte Klavier is to be released shortly.

Her forthcoming plans include performances of Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
