Saturday’s opening concert features prominent Polish pianists Ewa Osińska and Janusz Olejniczak, who will be joined by young up-and-coming pianist Artur Haftman, a student at the Royal College of Music in London, as well as guitarist Adam Palma and opera singers Ewa Majcherczyk and Marcin Gesla.

The soloist during Sunday’s afternoon concert will be Karol Pacholec, a finalist at last year’s International Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

The festival programme also includes a concert of Chopin’s music in jazz arrangements and a screening of the 2002 feature film "Chopin: Desire for Love," directed by Jerzy Antczak and starring Piotr Adamczyk.

The event is held on the eve of the 173rd anniversary of Chopin’s death. The composer died on October 17, 1849 in Paris.

The Polish Social and Cultural Centre POSK is located at 238-246 King St, London W6 0RF.
