Łódź has a well-established tradition of filmmaking, design and the arts, and is this year celebrating the 600th anniversary of its founding.
The festival's thematic streams will feature performances, workshops, competitions, master classes and public participation projects in film arts, music, dance, theatre, design, and the visual arts.
A substantial lineup for all ages awaits the audiences, from traditional folk songs to contemporary dance.

Events will be taking place at numerous venues throughout the city, including the popular Manufaktura complex, the Academy of the Arts and the Julian Tuwim Youth Palace.
Over the last 12 years, more than 4,000 young artists from 38 countries have met at the annual festival.
This year's gathering will feature design, visual and performance arts inspired by national traditions, folklore and ethnic cultures from the participating countries.
For the next seven days, audiences will be able to enjoy traditional arts, as well as interact with festival artists in the streets, squares and courtyards of the city.
Folkowe Studio TV will cover the events, with live studio sessions, interviews and reports from the festival's many locations.
The city's own artists and creatives will be showing off an improvised comedy show, a folk-inspired plastic installation and fashion collections.
The festival will conclude on July 2 with a concert by the award-winning Polish singer Karolina Lizer and her Folk Orkiestra band, featuring the Poltex Song and Dance Ensemble.
