Garnering significant attention and accolades, the Polish-British production clinched the Grand Prix award at this year's Cannes Film Festival and is set for screening at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

Polish audiences, meanwhile, can anticipate its theatrical release on February 9.

Loosely based on Martin Amis' lauded 2014 war novel of the same title, the narrative delves into the love story between Höss and his wife Hedwig, with whom he fathered five children.

Starring in the lead roles are German actors Christian Friedel and Sandra Hüller.

Reviews from leading film publications such as Indiewire have described the movie as a "chilling look at the banality of evil," while Vanity Fair magazine deemed it "gripping and awful and terribly necessary to its time."

Adding to the film's authenticity, the production took place at the actual Auschwitz site and received funding from the Polish Film Institute.

The film is directed by British filmmaker Jonathan Glazer, known for works such as Sexy Beast and Under the Skin as well as music videos for bands like Radiohead and Massive Attack.

Polish cinematographer Łukasz Żal, a two-time Oscar nominee, worked on the movie along with producer Ewa Puszczyńska, who previously showcased her expertise in critically acclaimed movies such as Paweł Pawlikowski’s Ida and Cold War.

Gutek Film, the distributor, has confirmed the film's release date in Poland as February 9.

Before its Polish debut, film enthusiasts can catch The Zone of Interest in the Special Presentation section at the Toronto International Film Festival, which starts on September 7.
